1 AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
2 Section 18-3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
6 changing Section 18-3 as follows:
7 (720 ILCS 5/18-3)
8 Sec. 18-3. Vehicular hijacking.
9 (a) A person commits vehicular hijacking when he or she
10 takes a motor vehicle from the person or the immediate
11 presence of another by the use of force or by threatening the
12 imminent use of force.
13 (b) For the purposes of this Article, the term "motor
14 vehicle" has shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the
15 Illinois Vehicle Code.
16 (c) Sentence. Vehicular hijacking is a Class 1 felony.
