1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 558
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 558 as follows:
3 on page 2, immediately below line 22, by inserting the
4 following:
5 "The funding program included in the educational services
6 block grant for funding for children requiring special
7 education services in each fiscal year shall be treated in
8 that fiscal year as a payment to the school district in
9 respect of services provided or costs incurred in the prior
10 fiscal year, calculated in each case as provided in this
11 Section. Nothing in this Section shall change the nature of
12 payments for any program that, apart from this Section, would
13 be or, prior to adoption or amendment of this Section, was on
14 the basis of a payment in a fiscal year in respect of
15 services provided or costs incurred in the prior fiscal year,
16 calculated in each case as provided in this Section."; and
17 on page 3, line 16, by replacing "IC" with "1C IC"; and
18 on page 11, immediately below line 30, by inserting the
19 following:
20 "Nothing in this amendatory Act of the 91st General
21 Assembly shall eliminate any reimbursement obligation owed as
22 of the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 91st
23 General Assembly to a school district with in excess of

1 500,000 inhabitants.".
