1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 329
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 329 on page 3 by
3 replacing lines 18 through 26 with the following:
4 "(i) A prosecution for criminal sexual assault,
5 aggravated criminal sexual assault, or aggravated criminal
6 sexual abuse may be commenced within 10 years of the
7 commission of the offense if the victim reported the offense
8 to law enforcement authorities within 2 years after the
9 commission of the offense.
10 When the victim is under 18 years of age at the time of
11 the offense and the offender is a family member as defined in
12 Section 12-12, a prosecution for criminal sexual assault,
13 aggravated criminal sexual assault, predatory criminal sexual
14 assault of a child, or aggravated criminal sexual abuse may
15 be commenced within 10 years of the victim attaining the age
16 of 18 years.
17 When the victim is under 18 years of age at the time of
18 the offense and the offender is not a family member as
19 defined in Section 12-12, a prosecution for criminal sexual
20 assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, predatory
21 criminal sexual assault of a child, or aggravated criminal
22 sexual abuse may be commenced within 10 years of the victim
23 attaining the age of 18 years, if the victim reported the
24 offense to law enforcement authorities before he or she
