Short description: 
STATE GOV'T BLDG SAFETY COMMN                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Creates the State  Government  Building  Safety  Commission  Act.      
   Creates  the State Government Building Safety Commission consisting of      
   the Director of State Police, the Director of Security for the  Office      
   of  the  Secretary  of State, and 8 members of the General Assembly, 2      
   each appointed by the Speaker and Minority Leader of the House and the      
   President and Minority  Leader  of  the  Senate.   Provides  that  the      
   Commission  shall  study  security procedures of the 50 states at each      
   state capitol building and other  primary  office  buildings  of  each      
   state  government  and  shall make its recommendations to the Governor      
   and  General  Assembly  on  or  before  December  30,  1998  for   the      
   implementation  of  increased  security  procedures  for  the  Capitol      
   Building,  Stratton  Building,  the  Michael  J. Howlett Building, the      
   James R. Thompson Center, and the State of Illinois Building.  Permits      
   the Commission to keep the report confidential.   Amends  the  General      
   Assembly  Organization  Act  to exempt the report on security from the      
   public  filing  requirements  of  reports  submitted  to  the  General      
   Assembly.  Effective immediately.
