HWY CD-OVERPASS-RR CROSSING                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Highway Code to provide that  the  Department      
   of  Transportation  has  the  power to create an overpass to bypass an      
   existing railroad-highway grade crossing  when  the  separation  of  a      
   railroad-highway  grade  crossing  severely  impairs  the  ability  of      
   emergency  vehicles  to  operate efficiently and effectively due to an      
   above average frequency and duration  of  interruptions  to  vehicular      
   traffic.
