Short description: PEN CD-IMRF-MILITARY SERVICE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) Article of the Pension Code. Allows members and retirees to receive up to 24 months of credit for military service not preceded by employment upon payment of the corresponding employee and employer contributions. Requires employer approval. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE Cost is unknown but is not expected to be significant.
