SCH CD-COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY-TAX                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the School Code.  In the  provisions  relating  to  school      
   district leases of personal property for a term not exceeding 5 years,      
   defines  personal  property  to include computer hardware and software      
   and all equipment, fixtures, renovations, and improvements to district      
   facilities that  are  necessary  to  accommodate  computers.   In  the      
   provisions  relating  to  the  tax  that school districts may levy for      
   leasing educational facilities,  includes  computer  technology  as  a      
   purpose  for which that tax may be levied.  Authorizes the district to      
   pledge the proceeds of that tax as security for  the  payment  of  any      
   lease, lease-purchase agreement, or installment purchase agreement for      
   the  lease  of  educational facilities or computer technology or both.      
   Specifies expenditures that may be made with the proceeds of  the  tax      
   levied  for  leasing  educational facilities or computer technology or      
   both.  Effective immediately.
