Short description: 
CD CORR-TRUTH IN SENTENCING                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Makes a  stylistic  change  in      
   Section defining the offense of unlawful use of body armor.                 
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          720 ILCS 5/33F-2                                                     
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          730 ILCS 5/3-6-3                from Ch. 38, par. 1003-6-3           
          730 ILCS 5/3-6-3.1                                                   
          730 ILCS 5/5-4-1                from Ch. 38, par. 1005-4-1           
        Deletes everything. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections.            
   Reenacts the Truth-In-Sentencing provisions from P.A.89-404 as              
   amended by subsequent Public Acts that were declared unconstitutional       
   by the Appellate Court. Extends the reporting deadline by the               
   Truth-In-Sentencing Commission to report  recommended  legislation  to      
   the Governor and General Assembly from March 1, 1997 to March 1, 1999.      
   Effective immediately.
