Short description:
CRIM VICTIMS COMP-SELF-DEFENSE

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Crime Victims Compensation Act. Permits the Court of
Claims to compensate a victim of a crime of violence for the costs of
attending a self-defense class for victims of crimes of violence at an
amount determined reasonable by the Court of Claims.
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE
No fiscal or prison population impact on DOC.
          FISCAL NOTE (Dpt. of Corrections)
          No change from correctional note.
          JUDICIAL NOTE
The bill would not either decrease nor increase the need for
the number of judges in the state.
          STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE
In the opinion of DCCA, HB1285 fails to create a State mandate
          under the State Mandates Act.
