 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are  saddened
 3    to  learn  of  the  death  of  Theodore  "Ted" Damos of North
 4    Henderson, Illinois; and
 5        WHEREAS, Theodore Damos was born in Waukegan, Illinois on
 6    March 23, 1919; his parents were Sam and Eva Damos; Mr. Damos
 7    was educated in the Waukegan public schools; as an athlete in
 8    high school Ted Damos  was  named  to  the  All  County,  All
 9    Suburban, and All State football teams;  and
10        WHEREAS,  Ted  Damos  went on to attend the University of
11    Wisconsin where he was a  running  back  for  the  University
12    football  team;  he went on to attend Northwestern University
13    and Northwest Missouri State University; and
14        WHEREAS, On December 19, 1948  Ted  Damos  married  Delma
15    Tornquist; for thirty years Ted taught Physical Education and
16    coached  football  and  baseball at Waukegan High School; Ted
17    will be remembered for  taking  six  baseball  teams  to  the
18    Illinois  State  finals;  Ted  Damos is named in the Illinois
19    Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame; and
20        WHEREAS, After his retirement  from  teaching  Ted  Damos
21    moved  to  a farm in North Henderson, Illinois, where he took
22    an active role in his community; Ted Damos was  a  member  of
23    the   St.  George  Greek  Orthodox  Church  in  Rock  Island,
24    Illinois; and
25        WHEREAS, Theodore "Ted" Damos is survived by  his  loving
26    wife, Delma Damos; his sons, Donn Damos and his wife, Marsha,
27    and  David  Damos  and  his  wife,  Karen; his grandchildren,
28    Christina, Ted, Sarah, Anna, and Rachel Damos;  his  brother,
29    John  Damos  and his wife, Lorraine; his sister, Loula Damos;
30    his sister-in-law, Virginia Damos; his  brother-in-law,  John
31    Tornquist  and  his wife, Fran; his nephews, James, John, and

 1    Samuel Damos; and one niece, Diane Coolican; therefore, be it
 2        RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
 3    OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that  we  mourn,  along  with  his
 4    family  and  friends,  the  death  of Theodore "Ted" Damos of
 5    North Henderson, Illinois; and be it further
 6        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 7    presented to the family of Theodore Damos.
