1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sympathies to the family of Eric Felton Austin;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Eric Felton Austin was born in Centreville,
6 Illinois, on May 16, 1961; his parents are Roland Austin and
7 Dorothy Kenney Austin; at an early age Eric accepted Christ
8 into his life, he joined with Pilgrim Temple, where he had
9 served as a steward; and
10 WHEREAS, Eric Austin received his education from the East
11 St. Louis Public Schools; he attended Langston University in
12 Langston, Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts
13 Degree in Broadcast Journalism; Eric Austin was employed in
14 the family television business; and
15 WHEREAS, Eric Austin was active in several organizations
16 while in college, was active in the East St. Louis Jack and
17 Jill, the Shriners, and the Masonic Lodge, as well as a
18 member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity; Eric served as the
19 director of the Clown Unit, and participated in the annual
20 Shrine parades; Eric was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners
21 Club and Langston Alumni Association; Eric liked to travel
22 and enjoyed photography; Eric worked to keep the memory of
23 his brother Roland alive, who preceded him in death; and
24 WHEREAS, Eric Austin is survived by his parents, Roland
25 and Dorothy Austin; his half-brother Kenneth Aikens; his
26 uncles, Dr. Roy Kenney, Howard Kenney, Isaac Austin, and
27 Calvin Austin; his aunts, Janie Rucker, Goldie Jackson,
28 Katherine Brown, Reba Kenney, Madge Austin, and Ora Kenney;
29 his cousins in Alaska, Florida, California, Kansas, Oklahoma,
30 Alabama, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana; and his many
31 friends; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
2 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his
3 family and friends, the death of Eric Felton Austin; and be
4 it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Eric Felton Austin, along with our
7 sincere condolences.
