 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 877
 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 877,  by  changing
 3    the title to read as follows:
 4        "AN   ACT   to   amend  the  University  of  Illinois  at
 5    Springfield Law by changing Section 40-15."; and
 6        by replacing everything after the  enacting  clause  with
 7    the following:
 8        "Section  1.   The  University of Illinois at Springfield
 9    Law is amended by changing Section 40-15 as follows:
10        (110 ILCS 327/40-15)
11        Sec. 40-15.  Transfer of employees and students.  On  the
12    effective  date  of  this  Article,  the  employment  of  all
13    academic   and   nonacademic   personnel  of  Sangamon  State
14    University (now  known  as  the  University  of  Illinois  at
15    Springfield)  is hereby transferred from the Board of Regents
16    to the Board of Trustees of the University of  Illinois,  but
17    the  locus of their employment shall not be transferred.  The
18    transfer shall not affect the status and rights of any person
19    under the State Universities Retirement System or  the  State
20    Universities  Civil Service System.  On the effective date of
21    this  Article,  the  individuals  whose  employment   is   so

 1    transferred  shall  be credited with earned vacation days and
 2    sick leave days accrued before the transfer.
 3        On the effective date of this  Article,  individuals  who
 4    are  students  of Sangamon State University shall be students
 5    of the University of Illinois at  Springfield.   All  degrees
 6    from  Sangamon  State  University  shall  be degrees from the
 7    University of Illinois at Springfield.  Any reasonable  costs
 8    associated  with the reissuance of diplomas shall be borne by
 9    the individuals requesting the diplomas.

12        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
13    becoming law.".
