      720 ILCS 5/3-1            from Ch. 38, par. 3-1
          Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.   Makes  a  grammatical
      change  in  Section  providing  that  a  person  is  presumed
      innocent until proved guilty.

 1        AN  ACT  to  amend  the Criminal Code of 1961 by changing
 2    Section 3-1.
 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section  5.   The  Criminal  Code  of  1961 is amended by
 6    changing Section 3-1 as follows:
 7        (720 ILCS 5/3-1) (from Ch. 38, par. 3-1)
 8        Sec. 3-1. Presumption of innocence and proof of guilt.
 9        Every person is presumed innocent until proved guilty. No
10    person shall be convicted of an any offense unless his  guilt
11    thereof is proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
