      720 ILCS 5/31-5           from Ch. 38, par. 31-5
          Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 relating to the  offense
      of concealing or aiding a fugitive. Eliminates exemption from
      prosecution  for  a  parent, child, brother, or sister of the
      offender.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Criminal Code  of  1961  by  changing
 2    Section 31-5.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Criminal  Code  of  1961  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 31-5 as follows:
 7        (720 ILCS 5/31-5) (from Ch. 38, par. 31-5)
 8        Sec. 31-5. Concealing or aiding a fugitive.
 9        Every person not standing in the relation of husband or ,
10    wife,  parent, child, brother or sister to the offender, who,
11    with intent to prevent  the  apprehension  of  the  offender,
12    conceals  his  or  her  knowledge  that  an  offense has been
13    committed or harbors, aids, or conceals the offender, commits
14    a Class 4 felony.
