Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Provides
that the Department of Children and Family Services shall
report annually to the General Assembly regarding
out-of-state placements of children for the preceding year.
The report shall include the number of children placed
out-of-state, in which states they were placed, the types of
services being provided to the children, the cost of the
placements, and why services were not provided in Illinois.
Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act and the
Juvenile Court Act of 1987 to make technical changes
concerning their short titles.

1 AN ACT concerning child services.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is
5 amended by adding Section 6c as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 505/6c new)
7 Sec. 6c. Out-of-state placements; report. The
8 Department shall report annually to the General Assembly
9 regarding out-of-state placements of children for whom the
10 Department is performing placement service.
11 (a) The report shall, at a minimum, include for the
12 preceding year:
13 (1) the number of children for whom the Department
14 provided placement services who were placed out-of-state;
15 (2) in which states the children were placed;
16 (3) the types of services which were or are being
17 provided to children placed out-of-state;
18 (4) the cost of the out-of-state placements; and
19 (5) why such services were not provided in
20 Illinois.
21 Section 10. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act
22 is amended by changing Section 1 as follows:

24 Sec. 1. This Act shall be known and may be cited as the
25 Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

27 Section 15. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by
28 changing Section 1-1 as follows:

3 be cited as the Juvenile Court Act of 1987.
