1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish
3 to congratulate the 1081st Signal Company on the occasion of
4 their fiftieth anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, The 1081st Signal Company were a part of the Air
6 Force during World War II; they proudly served the United
7 States in Africa and Italy; and
8 WHEREAS, Upon the conclusion of the war the men of the
9 1081st arranged to meet every year for a reunion; in 1949 the
10 first of many reunions was held in Chicago, Illinois; each
11 year the reunion would be held in a different state, with the
12 men of each particular area arranging activities and events,
13 as well as places for the men to stay; as the years
14 progressed, the men began bringing their families, and it
15 became a special treat each summer; and
16 WHEREAS, This year the families of the men are arranging
17 the last reunion for the surviving members of the company;
18 therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate the 1081st Signal Company on their fiftieth
22 reunion; we take a moment to honor these brave men who gave
23 so much for their country; we thank them for caring for us;
24 may they enjoy this special moment in their lives; and be it
25 further
26 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
27 presented to the men of the 1081st Signal Company.
