 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to  recognize
 3    individuals  who  have  made outstanding contributions to the
 4    well-being of the citizens of this State; and
 5        WHEREAS, Morris F. Cox served  as  police  chief  of  the
 6    Fairbury Police Department from July 12, 1967 until April 15,
 7    1981;  during  this  time,  he handled all emergencies with a
 8    cool head and earned the respect and admiration  of  all  who
 9    worked under him; and
10        WHEREAS,  He  was  very active in the American Legion and
11    was a great booster of  athletics  at  Fairbury  Cropsy  High
12    School; and
13        WHEREAS,  He  was  supported  throughout  his  public and
14    private careers by his wife, Dorothy, and his children, John,
15    Judy, and Warren; and
16        WHEREAS, The City of Fairbury will honor Morris F. Cox at
17    the City Council Meeting on November l8, 1998; therefore,  be
18    it
19        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
20    NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we
21    join  with the people of Fairbury in paying tribute to Morris
22    F. Cox and applaud his good work; and be it further
23        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
24    presented to him as an expression on our respect and esteem.
