1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 James C. Jones of Urbana will celebrate the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, James and Lucille Jones were united in holy
10 matrimony on September 5, 1948 at the Rankin Methodist
11 Church; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Kenneth, Russell,
13 and Harold and the proud grandparents of one grandchild; and
14 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
15 highest plateaus when a couple such as James and Lucille
16 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
17 WHEREAS, James and Lucille stand as examples of the best
18 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
19 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that
20 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in
21 today's world; therefore be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
24 congratulate James and Lucille Jones on the occasion of their
25 fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
26 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
27 and a grandchild and rich in friendships; and that we wish
28 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
