1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Dale Blacker of Mahomet will celebrate the fiftieth
8 anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Dale Blacker and the former Phyllis Fay were
10 united in holy matrimony on August 1, 1948 at Lake Fork
11 Christian Church in Atwood; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Janice Reid,
13 Sandy Spencer, Don Blacker, and Shirley Drazewski and the
14 proud grandparents of ten; and
15 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
16 highest plateaus when a couple such as Dale and Phyllis
17 Blacker celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
18 WHEREAS, Dale and Phyllis Blacker stand as examples of
19 the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
20 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
21 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
22 difference in today's world; therefore be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Dale Blacker on the occasion of
26 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
27 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
28 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
29 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
30 further
