1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Ivan Schoolcraft of Gibson City, Illinois, will celebrate
8 the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Ivan Schoolcraft and the former Darlene Prosser
10 were united in holy matrimony on July 9, 1948, in Paxton,
11 Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Tom (Peggy)
13 Schoolcraft, Kathy (Jim) Finefield, Terri (Mike) Schultze,
14 and Linda (Lee) Meyer; they have twelve grandchildren and two
15 great-grandchildren; and
16 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
17 highest plateaus when a couple such as Ivan and Darlene
18 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
19 WHEREAS, Ivan and Darlene Schoolcraft stand as examples
20 of the best of our society, and their love and devotion to
21 each other and to their family and friends serve as a
22 reminder to all that hard work, dedication, and love can make
23 a difference in today's world; therefore be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate Ivan and Darlene Schoolcraft on the occasion of
27 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
28 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
29 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
30 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
31 further

2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
