1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Raymond "Gene" Eugene and Hester B. (Nelson) Suggs of
8 Champaign, Illinois, will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary
9 of their marriage; Raymond and Hester were married on June
10 19, 1948; and
11 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
12 highest plateaus when a couple such as Raymond and Hester
13 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
14 WHEREAS, Raymond and Hester stand as examples of the best
15 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
16 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that
17 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in
18 today's world; therefore be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, That we
21 congratulate Raymond and Hester Suggs on the occasion of
22 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
23 achieving a long and happy marriage; and that we wish them
24 happiness and good health in the future; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
