1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Big Brothers/Big Sisters
4 of Will and Grundy Counties on receiving a placement in the
5 Governor's Home Town Awards Project; and
6 WHEREAS, The Big Brothers/Big Sisters program puts an
7 adult or older teenager with a young boy or girl that may not
8 have older siblings at home; together, the big brother and
9 little brother or sisters participate in regular activities
10 that build up the child's confidence, as well as giving the
11 adult volunteer a sense of achievement; together the two
12 participants bake cookies, go fishing, participate in a
13 sport, go to a movie, visit a zoo, or just spend some time
14 talking; and
15 WHEREAS, This program deserves the honor given to it by
16 being placed on the Governor's Home Town Project List; and
17 WHEREAS, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Will and Grundy
18 Counties will be honored at the Governor's banquet on June
19 17, 1998; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 thank Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties
23 and its many volunteers for a job well done; when they take
24 time to help others then they deserve recognition and
25 congratulations; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Will and Grundy
28 Counties.
