1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 Joseph F. Szabo, formerly of Riverdale, will celebrate the
8 fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and
9 WHEREAS, Joseph Frank Szabo and the former Shirley Jean
10 Clark were united in holy matrimony on June 13, 1948 at
11 Virden Methodist Church in Virden; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Jo Carol Clark,
13 Susan L. Stables, Peggy Szabo, Joseph C. Szabo, and Clark S.
14 Szabo and the proud grandparents of Carly A. Szabo, Tori M.
15 Szabo, and Megan K. Stables; and
16 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
17 highest plateaus when a couple such as Joseph and Shirley
18 Szabo celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and
19 WHEREAS, Joseph and Shirley Szabo stand as examples of
20 the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each
21 other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to
22 all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a
23 difference in today's world; therefore be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Szabo on the occasion of
27 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
28 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children
29 and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that we wish
30 them happiness and good health in the future; and be it
31 further
