1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives is proud
3 to salute various community groups when they reach a
4 milestone in their years of serving; and
5 WHEREAS, The Carterville Lions Club is celebrating
6 seventy-five years of service to the community; and
7 WHEREAS, The Carterville Lions Club provides many
8 services to the community including participation by
9 co-ordinating the annual Free Fair, an opportunity for the
10 people of Carterville to get together and enjoy some fun and
11 each other's company; and
12 WHEREAS, Many people have been recipients of glasses and
13 eye care through the years thanks to the effort of the
14 Carterville Lions Club; several seeing eye dogs have been
15 provided; and now the Lions Club have expanded their efforts
16 to meet the needs of the hearing impaired; and
17 WHEREAS, The Senior Citizens of Carterville are provided
18 a facility by the Carterville Lions Club; for many years, the
19 Lions Club provided a facility for Southern Illinois
20 Incorporated; many of the members of the Carterville Lions
21 Club have been actively involved from twenty-five to fifty
22 years; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
25 salute the Carterville Lions Club on seventy-five years of
26 service to their community; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the Carterville Lions Club.
