1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives honor those citizens of the State that have
4 served their communities; and
5 WHEREAS, One such person is Reverend Jerome Feldmann;
6 Reverend Feldmann has served the Breese area since 1958; and
7 WHEREAS, Reverend Feldmann is a graduate of Illinois
8 State University; he taught high school in Ashley, south of
9 Centralia, for two years; he later joined the Brothers of the
10 Holy Cross and attended Notre Dame, where he received his
11 graduate degree; in 1958 he was ordained at St. Maur's
12 Seminary in Kentucky; and
13 WHEREAS, In the fall of 1958 he returned to Breese and
14 began a thirty-two year teaching career at Mater Dei High
15 School; Reverend Feldmann taught many different classes
16 including business, religion, and mechanical drawing;
17 Reverend Feldmann served as associate pastor of St. Francis
18 Church in Aviston and St. Augustas Church in Breese; he later
19 became pastor of St. Teresa's in Marydale and St. Felicita's
20 in Beaver Prairie; Reverend Feldmann is a multi-talented
21 individual; after a fire destroyed the church in Beaver
22 Prairie, he drew up the plans for the new church, saving the
23 church the expense of hiring an architect; Reverend Feldmann
24 is also a pianist, a gourmet cook, and a friend to the
25 community of believers in and around Breese; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 honor Reverend Feldmann as he retires from his pastorate in
29 Breese; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Reverend Jerome Feldmann along with our
