1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives have learned with great sadness of the death
4 of Adelina M. Contreras-Raducha; and
5 WHEREAS, Adelina M. Contreras-Raducha was the first
6 Latina police officer for the city of Chicago; later she held
7 the distinction of being the city's first Latina ward
8 superintendent; and
9 WHEREAS, At the age of fifty, Adelina M.
10 Contreras-Raducha retired from the police force after serving
11 for twenty-two years with the department; during her service
12 with the Chicago police department, Adelina M.
13 Contreras-Raducha received eleven police commendation awards,
14 thirty-eight honorable mentions, and a unit meritorious
15 performance award; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 mourn, along with her family and friends, the death of
19 Adelina M. Contreras-Raducha of Chicago, Illinois; and be it
20 further
21 RESOLVED, That we extend our sincere condolences to her
22 family and friends in this time of sorrow and loss; and be it
23 further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Adelina M. Contreras-Raducha.
