          Appropriates  $500,000  to  the  Illinois  Department  of
      Natural  Resources  for  the  purpose  of  assisting  in  the
      development and testing of technology for the restoration  of
      aquatic  resources  by  removing  sediment  from waterbodies,
      especially the Illinois River and its lakes  and  backwaters.
      Effective July 1, 1998.

 1        AN ACT concerning appropriations.
 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section 5.  The sum of  $500,000,  or  so  much  of  that
 5    amount  as  may be necessary, is appropriated to the Illinois
 6    Department of Natural Resources for the purpose of  assisting
 7    in   the  development  and  testing  of  technology  for  the
 8    restoration of aquatic resources by  removing  sediment  from
 9    waterbodies,  especially the Illinois River and its lakes and
10    backwaters.
11        Section 99.  This Act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
