1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2940
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2940 on page 4,
3 line 5, by replacing "intended" with the following:
4 "for the intended purpose of addressing the adverse effects
5 of climate change which"; and
6 on page 4, line 5, by replacing "to reduce" with "reduces";
7 and
8 on page 4, line 22, after "participation" by inserting the
9 following:
10 ", provided, however, that such participation does not
11 involve any allocation or other distribution of greenhouse
12 gas emission entitlements pursuant to or under color of the
13 Kyoto Protocol"; and
14 on page 4, line 25, after "Senate", by inserting the
15 following:
16 "or if Congress otherwise authorizes reductions of emissions
17 of the gases described in Section 15 for the purpose of
18 addressing the adverse effects of climate change".
