Amends the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act. Provides that
the Department on Aging, in conjunction with the Department
of Public Health and the Department of Human Services, shall
undertake a public information and awareness campaign to
educate people about the nature and circumstances of elder
abuse and neglect.

1 AN ACT to amend the Elder Abuse and Neglect Act by adding
2 Section 3.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Elder Abuse and Neglect Act is amended by
6 adding Section 3.5 as follows:
7 (320 ILCS 20/3.5 new)
8 Sec. 3.5. The Department, in conjunction with the
9 Department of Public Health and the Department of Human
10 Services, shall undertake a public information and awareness
11 campaign to educate people about the nature and circumstances
12 of elder abuse and neglect.
