Makes appropriations or reappropriations or both to the
Illinois Medical District Commission for fiscal year 1998.

1 AN ACT making appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. The following named amounts, or so much
5 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects
6 and purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to the
7 Illinois Medical District Commission:
8 Payable from General Revenue Fund:
9 For Personal Services......................... $ 183,100
10 For Employee Retirement Contributions
11 Paid by Employer ............................ 7,400
12 For State Contributions to the State
13 Employees' Retirement System ................ 9,400
14 For State Contributions to
15 Social Security.............................. 14,100
16 For Contractual Services...................... 7,500
17 For Travel.................................... 1,200
18 For Commodities .............................. 800
19 For Telecommunications Services............... 4,600
20 For Operation of Chicago Technology
21 Park Research Center and for
22 Development and Operation of the
23 Chicago Technology Park within the
24 Medical Center District ..................... 201,400
25 Total $1,033,000
26 Section 2. The sum of $162,800, or so much thereof as
27 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
28 Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission for
29 acquisition of property, demolition and site improvements,
30 and related costs within the Medical Center District, City of
31 Chicago.

1 Section 3. The sum of $5,000,000, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital
3 Development Fund to the Illinois Medical District Commission
4 for acquisition of property, demolition and site
5 improvements, and related costs within the Medical Center
6 District, City of Chicago for Phase II of District
7 Development Initiative.
8 Section 4. The sum of $3,387,668, or so much thereof as
9 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
10 business on June 30, 1997 from appropriations heretofore made
11 in Article 64, Section 3 of Public Act 89-0501, is
12 reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund to the
13 Illinois Medical District Commission for acquisition of
14 property, demolition and site improvements, and related costs
15 within the Medical Center District, City of Chicago for Phase
16 I of District Development Initiative.
17 Section 5. No contract shall be entered into or
18 obligation incurred for any expenditures from appropriations
19 in Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Article until the purposes and
20 amounts have been approved in writing by the Governor.
21 Section 999. Effective date. This Act becomes effective
22 on July 1, 1997.
