          Amends the School Code and the Board of Higher  Education
      Act.   Authorizes  the State Board of Education and the Board
      of  Higher  Education  to   reimburse   not-for-profit   arts
      organizations  and  cultural  institutions  for  the costs of
      providing educational programs to students.

 1        AN  ACT  relating  to  arts  organizations  and  cultural
 2    institutions.
 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section  5.  The School Code is amended by adding Section
 6    2-3.120 as follows:
 7        (105 ILCS 5/2-3.120 new)
 8        Sec.  2-3.120.  Arts  and  humanities  organizations  and
 9    cultural institutions.   The  State  Board  of  Education  is
10    authorized  to  reimburse  not-for-profit arts and humanities
11    organizations  and   cultural   institutions   of   Illinois,
12    including  but  not  limited to, museums and theater or dance
13    companies, for the costs of providing educational programs to
14    public elementary and secondary school students.
15        Section 10.  The Board of Higher Education Act is amended
16    by adding Section 9.09a as follows:
17        (110 ILCS 205/9.09a new)
18        Sec.  9.09a.  Arts  and  humanities   organizations   and
19    cultural  institutions.    The  Board  of Higher Education is
20    authorized to reimburse not-for-profit  arts  and  humanities
21    organizations   and   cultural   institutions   of  Illinois,
22    including but not limited to, museums and  theater  or  dance
23    companies, for the costs of providing educational programs to
24    students of public institutions of higher education.
