1 AN ACT to amend the Displaced Homemakers Assistance Act
2 by changing Section 3.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Displaced Homemakers Assistance Act is
6 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 615/3) (from Ch. 23, par. 3453)
8 Sec. 3. As used in this Act, unless the context clearly
9 indicates otherwise:
10 (a) "Displaced homemaker" means a person who (1) has
11 worked in the home for a substantial number of years
12 providing unpaid household services for family members; (2)
13 is not gainfully employed; (3) has difficulty in securing
14 employment; and (4) was dependent on the income of another
15 family member but is no longer supported by such income, or
16 was dependent on federal assistance but is no longer eligible
17 for such assistance. "Displaced homemaker" also includes a
18 teen or adult single parent.
19 (b) "Director" means the Director of Commerce and
20 Community Affairs or its successor agency.
