Amends the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporters Act of
1984. Restricts the reproduction and distribution of
transcripts except by persons certified under this Act.
Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Certified Shorthand
2 Reporters Act of 1984 by adding Section 19.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporters
6 Act of 1984 is amended by adding Section 19.5 as follows:
7 (225 ILCS 415/19.5 new)
8 Sec. 19.5. Reproduction of transcripts. No person may
9 reproduce all or part of a transcript for the purpose of
10 selling or otherwise providing the reproduction to another
11 person without being certified under this Act. This Section
12 does not affect reproductions of all or part of a transcript
13 made pursuant to a court order or required for the internal
14 use of the courts.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.
