          Amends  the  Respite  Program  Act.    Deletes   language
      providing  that  the  implementation  of  respite projects is
      contingent  upon  the  availability  of   federal   financial
      participation.

 1        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  Respite  Program Act by changing
 2    Section 8.
 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section  5.   The  Respite  Program  Act  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 8 as follows:
 7        (320 ILCS 10/8) (from Ch. 23, par. 6208)
 8        Sec.  8. Funding.  Respite projects authorized under this
 9    Act  shall  be  funded  only  to  the  extent  of   available
10    appropriations  for  such  purposes.   The Director may shall
11    seek and obtain  federal  funds  that  may  be  available  to
12    finance  grants  awarded under Section 6 of this Act, and may
13    shall also seek and  obtain  other  non-state  resources  for
14    which  the State may be eligible.  Implementation of projects
15    under this Act shall be contingent upon the  availability  of
16    federal financial participation.  To the extent necessary for
17    implementation   of  this  Act,  the  Department  shall  seek
18    appropriate waivers of federal  requirements  from  the  U.S.
19    Department of Health and Human Services.
