1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 574
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 574 on page 5, by
3 replacing lines 13 through 15 with the following:
4 "a school district is to be annexed to another school
5 district, any action"; and
6 by replacing lines 24 through 26 with the following:
7 "the other school district."; and
8 on page 8, by replacing lines 3 through 5 with the following:
9 "district is to be annexed to another school district, any
10 action by the"; and
11 by replacing lines 13 through 15 with the following:
12 "district."; and
13 on page 10, lines 5 and 6, by deleting "or the detachment and
14 annexation"; and
15 on page 11, line 6, by deleting "or"; and
16 on page 11, by replacing lines 7 and 8 with the following:
17 ", the petition"; and
18 in line 11, by deleting "or the detachment and annexation";
19 and
20 on page 18, lines 7 and 8, by deleting "or the detachment and

2 on page 18, line 23, by replacing "OF TERRITORY OF (or IN)"
3 with "OF ALL TERRITORY OF"; and
4 in line 24, by deleting "Or Part"; and

7 by deleting line 33 on page 18 and lines 1 through 3 on page
8 19; and
9 on page 19, line 4, by deleting "(part)"; and
10 in lines 20 and 21, by deleting "(detachment and
11 annexation)"; and
12 in lines 23 and 24, by deleting "are entitled to vote on the
13 proposition and who"; and
14 on page 20, line 3, by deleting "(part)"; and
15 by replacing lines 12 through 33 on page 20 and lines 1
16 through 8 on page 21 with the following:
17 "Sec. 7-7.7. Passage requirements. The proposition for
18 the annexation of all of the territory of one or more school
19 districts to another school district shall be submitted to
20 the voters of the annexing district and the voters of each
21 district all of the territory of which is to be annexed to
22 the annexing district, and if a majority of the voters in
23 each such district who vote on the proposition vote in favor
24 of the proposition, the proposition shall be deemed to have
25 passed.".
