1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 28
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 28 on page 2, by
3 replacing lines 17 through 19 with the following:
4 "11. Encourage the State to implement more programs
5 to address the wide range of issues faced by Persian Gulf
6 War Veterans, especially those who took part in combat,
7 by creating an official commission to further study
8 Persian Gulf War Diseases. The commission shall consist
9 of 9 members appointed as follows: the Speaker and
10 Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and the
11 President and Minority Leader of the Senate shall each
12 appoint one member from the General Assembly, the
13 Governor shall appoint 4 members to represent veterans'
14 organizations, and the Department shall appoint one
15 member. The commission members shall serve without
16 compensation.".
