Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(510 ILCS 70/16.4) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027) Sec. 16.4. Illinois Animal Abuse Fund. The Illinois Animal Abuse Fund is created as a special fund in the State treasury. Moneys in the Fund may be used, subject to appropriation, by the Department of Agriculture to investigate animal abuse and neglect under this Act. On June 30, 2026, or as soon thereafter as practical, the State Comptroller shall direct and the State Treasurer shall transfer the remaining balance from the Illinois Animal Abuse Fund into the Livestock Management Facilities Fund. Upon completion of the transfer, the Illinois Animal Abuse Fund is dissolved, and any future deposits due to that Fund and any outstanding obligations or liabilities of that Fund shall pass to the Livestock Management Facilities Fund. This Section is repealed on January 1, 2027. (Source: P.A. 104-2, eff. 6-16-25.) |
