Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(225 ILCS 90/16) (from Ch. 111, par. 4266) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2031) Sec. 16. Inactive Licenses. Any physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who notifies the Department in writing on forms prescribed by the Department, may elect to place the physical therapist's or physical therapist assistant's license on an inactive status and shall, subject to rules of the Department, be excused from payment of renewal fees until the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant notifies the Department in writing of the desire to resume active status. Any physical therapist or physical therapist assistant requesting restoration from inactive status shall be required to pay the current renewal fee and shall be required to restore the license, as provided in Section 15 of this Act. Any physical therapist or physical therapist assistant whose license is in an inactive status shall not practice physical therapy in the State or present oneself as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant as that practice shall be deemed unlicensed practice.(Source: P.A. 104-154, eff. 1-1-26.) |
