Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(225 ILCS 90/15) (from Ch. 111, par. 4265) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2031) Sec. 15. Restoration of expired licenses. A physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who has permitted the physical therapist's or physical therapist assistant's license to expire or who has had the license on inactive status may have the license restored by making application to the Department and filing proof acceptable to the Department of the licensee's fitness to have the license restored, including sworn evidence certifying to active practice in another jurisdiction satisfactory to the Department and by paying the required restoration fee. If the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant has not maintained an active practice in another jurisdiction satisfactory to the Department, the Board shall determine, by an evaluation program established by rule the licensee's fitness to resume active status and may require the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant to complete a period of evaluated clinical experience and may require successful completion of an examination. Any physical therapist or physical therapist assistant whose license has been expired or placed on inactive status for more than 5 years may have the license restored by making application to the Department and filing proof acceptable to the Department of the physical therapist's or physical therapist assistant's fitness to have the license restored, including sworn evidence certifying to active practice in another jurisdiction and by paying the required restoration fee. However, any physical therapist or physical therapist assistant whose license has expired while the licensee has been engaged (1) in the federal service in active duty with the Army of the United States, the United States Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, the Coast Guard, or the State Militia called into the service or training of the United States of America, or (2) in training or education under the supervision of the United States preliminary to induction into the military service, may have the license restored without paying any lapsed renewal fees or restoration fee, if, within 2 years after termination of such service, training, or education, other than by dishonorable discharge, the Department is furnished with an affidavit to the effect that the physical therapist's or physical therapist assistant has been so engaged and that the physical therapist's or physical therapist assistant's service, training, or education has been so terminated.(Source: P.A. 104-154, eff. 1-1-26.) |
