Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

Sec. 20. Workplace violence prevention program. (a) A health care provider shall create a workplace violence prevention program that complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines for preventing workplace violence for health care and social service workers as amended or updated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. (a-5) In addition, the workplace violence prevention program shall include: (1) the following classifications of workplace | ||

(A) "Type 1 violence" means workplace violence | ||

(B) "Type 2 violence" means workplace violence | ||

(C) "Type 3 violence" means workplace violence | ||
| ||
(D) "Type 4 violence" means workplace violence | ||

(2) management commitment and worker participation, | ||
| ||
(3) worksite analysis and identification of | ||
| ||
(4) hazard prevention and control;
(5) safety and health training with required hours | ||
| ||
(6) recordkeeping and evaluation of the violence | ||
| ||
(b) The Department of Public Health may by rule adopt additional criteria for workplace violence prevention programs.
