Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(20 ILCS 415/8b.20) (from Ch. 127, par. 63b108b.20) (Text of Section before amendment by P.A. 104-136) Sec. 8b.20. Veterans hospital visits. An employee who is also a veteran
shall be permitted 4 days per year to visit a veterans hospital or clinic for
examination of a military service-connected disability. The 4 days shall
not be charged against any sick leave currently available to the employee.(Source: P.A. 95-72, eff. 1-1-08.) (Text of Section after amendment by P.A. 104-136) Sec. 8b.20. Veterans medical appointments. An employee who is also a veteran shall be permitted 4 days per year to receive medical care authorized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, at any type of health care provider or health care facility, for examination or treatment of a military service-connected condition.
