Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

820 ILCS 35/6a

    Sec. 6a. The mayor of every city, and the president of every incorporated town or village, whenever a strike or lockout involving more than twenty-five employees shall be threatened or has actually occurred within or near such city, incorporated town or village shall immediately communicate the fact to the Department of Labor, stating the name or names of the employer or employers and of one or more employees, with their post-office addresses, the nature of the controversy or difference existing, the number of employees involved and such other information as may be required by the Department. The president or chief executive officer of every labor organization, in case of a strike or lockout, actual or threatened, involving the members of the organization of which he is an officer, shall immediately communicate the fact of such strike or lockout to the Department, with such information as he may possess, touching the difference or controversy, and the number of employees involved.
