Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

    Sec. 10. Definitions. In this Act:
    "Address of Record" means the designated address recorded by the Department in the applicant's or licensee's application file or license file as maintained by the Department's licensure maintenance unit.
    "Department" means the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
    "Electrologist" means an individual licensed to practice electrology pursuant to the provisions of this Act.
    "Electrology" means the practice or teaching of services for permanent hair removal utilizing only solid probe electrode type epilation, which may include thermolysis (shortwave, high frequency), electrolysis (galvanic), or a combination of both (superimposed or sequential blend).
    "Email address of record" means the designated email address recorded by the Department in the applicant's application file or in a licensee's license file, as maintained by the Department's licensure maintenance unit.
    "Secretary" means the Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation.
