Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process.
Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as
Public
Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the
Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes,
statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect.
If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has
not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already
been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes
made to the current law.

Sec. 1.
The corporate authorities of all counties and municipal corporations and
all public officers who in the discharge of their official duties receive
all or any part of their funds from the County Collector or the County
Treasurer and all fee officers other than city or village treasurers or
municipal officers who are required to file an annual report, which report
is required to be published, shall furnish as herein provided, within 60
days after January 1st and July 1st of each year a sworn, detailed and
itemized statement of all receipts and expenditures of any character for
the preceding 6 months and showing the names, addresses, positions and
salaries of every employee of the county office or municipal corporation.
A copy of such statement shall be furnished for reference, on request,
to all daily newspapers published in each city, in such county, and to the
city library of each city. Copies shall also be furnished to the clerk of
the circuit court or to the clerk of such municipal corporation,
respectively, such copies to be kept available for inspection by persons
applying therefor. The governing body of any such county or municipal
corporation may direct the publication of such reports, respectively, in
one or more daily newspapers respectively published therein, and the city
council of cities of 300,000 or more population shall so direct the
publication thereof.
Nothing in this Act shall apply to the corporate authorities or any
officer of a county which has a population of more than 3,000,000.
