Information maintained by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.

Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.

20 ILCS 665/8

    (20 ILCS 665/8) (from Ch. 127, par. 200-28)
    Sec. 8. Allocation of appropriations.
    (1) Amounts that are appropriated from the Tourism Promotion Fund to the Department for the purpose of making grants under Sections 5 and 6 of this Act shall be allocated by the Department as follows:
        (a) 62.5% to local promotion groups, municipalities,

and counties not wholly or partially within any county of more than 1 million population;
        (b) 37.5% to local promotion groups, municipalities,

and counties wholly or partially within any county of more than 1 million population.
    However, if sufficient local funds cannot be raised to match the allocation made under either paragraph (a) or (b) of this subsection, such appropriations may be reallocated, in whole or in part, to any applicant or applicants able to qualify for a grant or may be used by the Department to promote the tourist attractions of the State of Illinois as a whole.
    (2) Amounts that are appropriated from the Tourism Promotion Fund to the Department for the purpose of making grants under Sections 5 and 6 of this Act to match funds from the private sector may be used by the Department in any county of this State.
