 1        AN ACT concerning schools.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5. The School  Construction  Law  is  amended  by
 5    adding Section 5-60 as follows:

 6        (105 ILCS 230/5-60 new)
 7        Sec.  5-60.  School  capital  needs assessment. The State
 8    Board of Education and the Capital  Development  Board  shall
 9    file  with  the  General  Assembly a comprehensive assessment
10    report of the capital needs of all school districts  in  this
11    State  before  January  1, 2005 and every 2 years thereafter.
12    This assessment shall include without limitation an  analysis
13    of  the  6 categories of capital needs prioritized in Section
14    5-30 of this Law.

15        Section 99. Effective date. This Act  takes  effect  upon
16    becoming law.
