SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ronald Raymond "Ron" Camper of Rapid
4City, who passed away on October 28, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Camper was born to Arthur Raymond and Loraine
6May Weigand Camper in Rock Island on August 23, 1947; he
7graduated from Alleman High School in 1965; he served in the
8U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam; he married Sherry
9Aman Claeys at the Memorial Baptist Church in Milan on May 16,
101992; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ron Camper retired from the State of Illinois,
12where he served as a correctional officer at the East Moline
13Correctional Center for 20 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ron Camper enjoyed keeping busy following
15retirement and became a driving and classroom instructor at
16Skiles Driving School in East Moline; he also drove a Pinks bus
17for Hampton Elementary School and served as a volunteer Port
18Byron fireman for several years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ron Camper was a member of the First Baptist
20Church in Silvis and the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 299;
21he formerly served with the Milan Auxiliary Police Department;

1he was also an archery and shooting instructor for the Youth
2Shooting Sports Association in Moline; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ron Camper was preceded in death by his parents
4and his brother, Richard Camper; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Camper is survived by his wife, Sherry
6Camper; his son, Raymond Prucher; his brother, Daniel F. (Liz)
7Camper; and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Ronald Raymond "Ron" Camper and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ron Camper as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
