SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Patrice M. Johannes of Palatine, who
4passed away on April 16, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was born in Highland Park to
6Raymond and Marguerite (Steffen) Sheahen on January 25, 1945;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was a career educator and was
9the principal of Buffalo Grove High School at the time of her
10retirement in 2008; previously, she was the principal at St.
11Viator High School in Arlington Heights, assistant principal
12of Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis, Missouri, counselor
13at Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, and a teacher at
14St. Paul High School in Highland; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was a devoted and active member
16of the Rotary of Buffalo Grove; she went on a service trip with
17the club to Ak' tenamit in Guatemala and served as chair of the
18scholarship committee; she was always willing to help at
19events; she also volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor
20in Palatine; she will be remembered as someone who always gave
21of herself to others, both during her long career in education
22and through her volunteer work; and

1    WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes was preceded in death by her
2daughter, Lisa Marie Burnett; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Patrice Johannes is survived by her children,
4Donald (Holly) Johannes Jr., Peggy (Matt) Jacober, and Andrew
5(Michele) Johannes; her grandchildren, Jenna, Kaitlin, Jake,
6Colin, Liam, Dylan, and Mark; and her sisters, Virginia
7Quillinan, Mary Murray, Barbara Spitzer, and Anita Page;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Patrice M. Johannes and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Patrice Johannes as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
