SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry Owen Tadlock, D.V.M. of the Quad
4Cities, who passed away on October 5, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was born to Helen (Shull) and Grant
6Owen Tadlock in Moravia, Iowa on June 5, 1933; he served in the
7U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956, where he worked as a small arms
8weaponry instructor before being stationed in Germany; he
9married JoAn Callen in Moravia on January 10, 1954; he earned
10his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University
11in 1962; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock joined the veterinary practice of Dr.
13Ralph Ruggles in Moline in 1962; he was a partner at a clinic
14in Granite City from 1965 through 1971; he joined the Rock
15Island Animal Hospital as a partner in 1971, retiring as its
16sole proprietor in 2010; he also helped in the creation of the
17Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock joined Rotary International in
19Granite City in 1969, and he was a member of the Rock Island
20Rotary Club from 1971 until his passing; he served the club and
21the district in numerous capacities, including as president
22and as a 15-year member and three-year chair of the Rotary

1Group Study Exchange Committee; he also maintained a perfect
2attendance record for nearly 40 years; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was a skilled and accomplished
4woodworker; he enjoyed traveling with his family, including to
5Buffalo River in Arkansas, Yellowstone National Park, Lake
6Rathbun, and a special camping trip to the Oregon Coast with
7his wife; his passion for backpacking led him to the bottom of
8the Grand Canyon and back, Glacier National Park, and various
9parts of the Colorado Rockies; he led 29 canoeing trips to the
10Boundary Waters of Canada; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock was preceded in death by his son,
12Mark Tadlock; his siblings, Basil Tadlock and Imogene Tisue;
13and his parents; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dr. Tadlock is survived by his wife, JoAn; his
15daughters, Larianne (Chuck) Richards, Sherri (Craig) DeVrieze,
16and Jann (Dan) Koert; his grandchildren, Dillon (Molly) Behr,
17Ryan Proctor, Sabrina (Eladio) Pena, Adam (Samantha) Tadlock,
18and Jesse (Maxine Robles) Topping; his 11 great-grandchildren;
19his three great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Joe
20Tadlock, Irene Brooks, and Naomi Hutt; therefore, be it
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
22ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Larry Owen Tadlock, D.V.M. and extend our sincere condolences
2to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
3it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Dr. Tadlock as an expression of our
6deepest sympathy.
