SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John P. "Jack" Milefchik of Rock Island, who passed away on October 14, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik was born to George and Mary Milefchik in Pocahontas, Iowa on July 3, 1935; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Jeannette Dirks in Pocahontas on April 1, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1990, after 35 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and Moline American Legion Post 246; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik enjoyed working on clocks and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas M. Milefchik; and his siblings, Eugene Milefchik, Loretta Shalik, Betty Halder, and Francis Milefchik; and

WHEREAS, Jack Milefchik is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Lisa (Bill) Harrington and Marty (Mindy) Milefchik; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Camryn, Abby, Brady, and Blake; his siblings, Peggy (Jerry) Hammes, Dick (Jolayne) Milefchik, Patty (Jim) Wills, and Judy (Tim) Kearney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John P. "Jack" Milefchik and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Milefchik as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
